In the 17th, 18th and 19th centuries master etchers and engravers captured the grandeur of the ancient Roman ruins being excavated after a thousand years of neglect. Piranesi, Rossini,and others made prints for collectors and tourists of the day. These are still highly collectible and increasingly rare and valuable. View 70 of the best.
